Yes, somebody has just offered $100.47 million on this 11,000-square-foot penthouse apartment occupying the 89th and 90th floors of One57, overlooking Central Park. This makes it the most anyone has paid to date for an apartment in Manhattan. (For townhouses and free-standing buildings, they’d paid more, believe it or not.) Designed by Christian de Portzamparc, One57 offers the standard luxury amenities; full service spa, indoor pool, screening room, private dining room, and the not-so-standard pet grooming area. The building’s incredible views, the major selling point, will block views from other nearby luxury buildings and those are expected to see their prices fall, as a result.
