“In studio with my producing “Partners” Walter Afanaseiff & Kenny @babyface Edmonds. #BarbraPartners”
Babs is heading back to late-night TV after a very long absence. Jimmy Fallon announced on The Tonight Show on Wednesday that Barbra Streisand will appear as both a guest and performer on Monday, September 15. The appearance coincides with selling something, of course – the upcoming release of Streisand’s new album Partners– which will be available the next day. It features Streisand’s duets with her star pals like Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder and Blake Shelton. This’ll be Streisand’s first appearance as a late-night guest in over 50 years (she did appear briefly in ’94 on The Late Show With David Letterman) She is famously terrified of performing on top of being a perfectionist. Mike Wallace grilled her on 60 Minutes in the early 90s and I think she never got over it. If nothing else, it will be interesting to see how the Diva presents herself to America. She just joined Instagram recently, if you want to follow her.
